What do you think when you hear the word “start-up”? I was never so curious about knowing start-ups and altogether how a business works until I watched a TV series “Silicon Valley”. Since then I grew an interest in knowing about start-ups and entrepreneurs who devote themselves to give a shape to their creativity. So, keep on reading to know some cool start-up endeavours people have taken.
If you are a DC fan, then you must know the guy called ‘Batman’. But wait, why we are talking about Batman in a start-up. So, there is a Gurgaon based start-up called Bats on Delivery earlier known as Batman Delivers. From all your midnight essential, from food to medicines and condoms, you had Batman delivering stuff at your place. Though now they have resorted to only edible food items, the idea they had earlier was indeed coolest. Then you have two women named Maya Vivek and Minal Dalmia from Gundlapochampally village at Kompally, Hyderabad, who started making fragrant soaps & incense sticks from floral waste. Instead of watching these floral wastes getting dumped by temples and cleaned by GHMC they used them to take an initiative to set up a business which is also helping many underprivileged women to get employed. Their idea now has a form of a start-up called Holy Waste.
What is the biggest problem single boys and girls face in a new city? A place to live in. So, the Bengaluru based start-up, Nestaway has a solution for those in distress. Backed by Ratan Tata, they offer a list of furnished homes available for rent for families, single boys and girls. Their websites provide all the details regarding pictures and rental agreement (Yes you read that right!) of the house. Filing income tax can be a lot of hustle and tussle for a working professional, given that they are really busy throughout the year. So, we have a start-up in our motherland to solve this problem. It’s called Cleartax and they seek to simplify the tax-filing process with just a creating an account on their website and they cater to Senior Citizens for free.
Now let’s come to some yummy food. Momos have completely revolutionized our food lust over the decade or so and will continue to do so in the decades to come. A company called Wow! Momo took this revolution to a whole new level. From corn cheese momos to momo burgers, they offer a wide variety of incredibly delicious momos. Don’t worry if they are not in your city. Seeing their growth, they might reach soon. We all have heard about barter system in our history books and also some of us might have seen that in the famous Pushkar mela in Rajasthan. So, continuing that age-old system of exchange, Lets Barter India lets you do exactly the same. It’s the brainchild of Sahil Dhingra and Pooja Bhayana and a pretty impressive number of people have joined their initiative on Facebook.
These are only few start-ups that are upholding the coolest quotient in India. The day is not far when Indian start-ups will be the change that you wish to see in the world and actually be proud of it.
